David Y.'s 1974 Gran Torino Brougham®
"Starsky & Hutch"® Replica
| David says his car is "Totally Bad!" It's
equipped with high tech electronics, including a 6.5 in. DVD player which plays through a 600 watt Sony Xplod sound
system. In 2006, David got to take part in the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour with this car, and had the car featured
in the magazine! |
| This car started off as a 1974 Gran Torino Brougham.
It's powered by a 351 Cleveland engine and a C-6 transmission, and breathes through a deep, throaty dual Flowmaster
exhaust system. This is one of the first cars that was made by a restoration shop in San Diego that specialized
in "Zebra 3" conversions from 2003 until 2006 but is, unfortunately, no longer in business. |
| David bought this car in 2003 and I first met David
and the car at the S&H Torino Reunion in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 2004. I took these photos at the Carlisle
reunion in 2008. |
