"Starsky & Hutch"®Ford
Gran Torino®
Year in Review - 2009
|
The first of three S&H Torino Reunions this year
was at the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This has always been one of the biggest of the year, drawing
not only many of the East Coast owners but also many from the Midwest.
This year's 11 attendees were: Steve B. (NJ), Chuck B. (PA), Mike B. (PA), Mike C. (NJ), Eldon C. (LA), George
G. (NJ), David K. (Canada), Ian R. (Canada), Jim W. (PA), Tony W. (MI), and Ralph who stopped there as he was moving
(and driving the Torino) from New York to Vegas. Eldon (who took these pictures) and Ralph attended for the first
time, the others are regulars. As usual, a great time was had by all! |

|
| A semi-annual gathering of S&H Torinos took place
at the Automotion car show in the Wisconsin Dells again this year: Arthur J. (IL), Pat & Rose P. (IL), and
John & Penny Q. (WI) spent the day relaxing and goofing around. Heck, one of them even spent some time playing
with dolls. As long as I keep getting paid on time each month, I won't tell you who it was. Anyway, it was a fun
day and it was great to get together with old friends! |

|
| The Route 66 Mother Road Festival in Springfield, Illinois
is on its way to becoming the next Evansville in terms of the number of S&H Torinos that get together there.
Last year there were a couple and this year there were more. In years to come, this event could turn into a record-breaker.
This year's attendees were: Pat P. (IL); Tony W. (MI); Ray S.(IL); Arthur J. (IL); and Honorary S&H Torino
owner Elvis Nelson (OH). |

|
| I asked S&H Torino owners to share photos of themselves
and their cars at other events or interesting places this year, and some of those photos are below. In September,
Arthur J. and Tony W. met at the Rt. 66 Museum in Pontiac, IL. on the way to the Springfield reunion. In July,
Joe. P. snapped a photo of his S&H Torino at the beautiful Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado
where his car club was meeting. |

|
| In October, Terry & Cheryl F. turned their car
loose with Antonio "Huggy Bear" Fargas for the weekend at the Ultimate Collectors & Autograph Show
in Philadelphia while they went sight seeing. Terry was most impressed with the Rocky Balboa statue near the library,
eating cheesesteaks from the world famous Geno's Steaks, and the Liberty Bell. |

While I'm sure other S&H Torino owners went interesting
places and had fun with their cars in 2009, the last two photos I have are from Barry S. whose car was featured
at a show called Las Vegas Car Stars in October. His car was parked in front of Binions and underneath the canopy
of the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.
In attendance were fellow Torino owners (but not their cars) "Movie" Mike Walsh (who built Barry's car
for the S&H Movie) and Louis and Lynda C. The event featured star cars such as KITT, Magnum PI's Ferrari, Herbie
the Love Bug, the General Lee, Back to the Future II's Delorean, Adam 12 patrol car, Hazzard County Sheriff, etc. |

Thanks to all of you for sending pictures to share
with S&H Torino lovers everywhere, and thank you to all of you who visited this web site in 2009. Although
(in the wake of the movie release and the series coming out on DVD a few years ago) it sometimes feels like things
are slowing down in the world of S&H Torinos, there were 5 new cars added to this site in 2009, and many old
cars had all new photos featured.
Despite the slow economy and other world events that can distract us from this hobby, there was something new here
every month this year. I look forward to meeting with S&H Torino owners (new and old) in 2010, and continuing
to share their photos and their stories with the world! |
